They stopped briefly, well for approximately 90 seconds, when I said that I'd like to watch the band play live rather than through their devices, so that was rather irritating. The album is an infinite loop, with every song flowing into one another, including the closing and opening track. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Nonagon Infinity is an example of the way in which King Gizzard actively exploits the way today’s listener consumes music, and uses this an artistic influence. Epic drum solos from Eric and Michael were definitely one of the highlights of the night. Once King Gizzard came on the show went absolutly ballistic, the air was filled with energy and that energy never disappeared. tons of good vibes.King Gizzard et al. Surely we should at least have been treated to 'Vomit Coffin'???!! An orchestrated visual played alongside the boys and was definitely a positive addition to the show. The band let us though a lot of different themes without losing that scorching energy which started the show.
The trippy tour projection visuals are also awesome and really fit each song in a way, being either chill or frantic and colorful. The crowd was moshing during all songs, including Plastic Boogie or Fishing for Fishies. by king gizzard and the shitpost wizard. It was a crazy show.Great show at Rebel Club on August 25, 2019! Both opening acts were very good as well, i especially liked Stonefield. The double drummers propelled the group into serious outer space zones, helped along by a fantastic light display, complete with psychedellic computer animated back projections synced perfectly to the sonic onslaught. #2 opening band was Stonefield, a power-rock band consisting of four sisters who really got the crowd head-banging and warmed up for King Gizzard. If these guys are coming to your city, do NOT miss them. were superb, though. More of a pain in fact, than the beer raining down on me from above now and again. I had been anxiously awaiting their set-list and when i saw them bringing in regular and microtonal instruments i knew i'd be in for a real treat!Sound quality was great, VJ'ing was amasing and the crowd was nuts! I can't have been the only person wondering whether they would do their recent 'Nonagon Infinity' album end-to-end without a break (as it appears on the cd and streaming). Live on stage, they deliver their jams, thrashes and meanderings in a show that surfs through their far-beyond-eclectic back catalogue in style.I've seen these guys ~5 times, and would not be itching to go back anytime soon if they keep playing in-and-out of nonagon.... it got old.On arriving at the gig I was already pretty plastered but was looking forward to seeing the river so pushed on. The scorching heath of starting songs set the fans ablaze as they joined bodies and mind rushing the stage in form of a very tight mosh pit.
