A woman of deep faith, Ann took comfort in the belief she would be reunited with the loved ones who predeceased her.In retirement, Ann traveled the world with Jim, family and friends, visiting six of the seven continents.
I was welcomed with open arms during visits (which was everyday) and I would always be greeted with a smile, a hug, then a kiss, followed by a sincere and caring question that still rings dear... "how are you Peter, Mom, Dad, and your sisters". !♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️I am Aunt Ann's great niece, Jackie Fogel. She was born Jan. 18, 1979, in Sterling to Buzz and Anne RICHARDS passed away . I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
Doc adored your Mom! Love my dear Uncle Jim and cousins John, Kathy and Terri so very much!!!! I didn't fully grasp it at the time, but now as an adult I realize just how generous and kind of her it was to welcome us like that. Ann loved living in Ormond Beach and enjoyed nothing more than when her home was filled with family. I remember thinking she was fabulous and interesting and I always felt very welcome in her home. Since my first niece was born, I have tried to be as great and loving an Aunt as Aunt Ann! This meant multiple relocations of family and home across the country (Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, California) and eventually to Australia. Still can’t believe it! She loved to read and was grateful for the many books loaned to her by friends. Most importantly, Ann was happiest spending time with cherished family and friends.
Memories of walking on the beach to collect sea shells and spending time at the pool will be cherished by Ann’s family in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing your Mom with me! Ann could always be counted “in” for trips with her sisters to play the slot machines in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
She will be deeply missed. This same woman who didn’t like to camp, enjoyed “roughing it” at Governor’s Camp while on this trip. We had a wonderful time there and she was very nice about giving us our space. Upon graduation from Preston, Ann worked as a bank teller. My beloved Aunt Ann, “showed me things, not known to kings.” I have been blessed to be her niece.
